Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.
The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
